 žakovci is a riverside village with a Pannonian character. Nature and cultural heritage enthusiasts can enjoy the Otok ljubezni (Island of Love). The popular excursion point is renowned for the floating mill and the ferry which shuttles between the banks of the river Mura. In Brežna hiša (Bank house), a permanent exhibition, Büjraštvo na reki Muri (River Bank Reinforcement), is put on display. After attending the exhibition, you can prepare yourself a traditional meal in the open fireplace.
In the souvenir shop, which offers a wide array of home made products such as pumpkin oil, honey, hemp chocolate and numerous crafts products, you can also buy flour from the floating mill. The island's wonderful natural area with organised infrastructure offers a possibility to organise picnics, celebrations and different parties for larger groups of visitors.
